Red elm bark provides protection for the stomach, intestines and mucous membranes. It has long been traditionally used to relieve various forms of indigestion and irritated mucous membranes, including throat infections. It forms a protective mucus that has a soothing and protective effect on irritated intestines and mucous membranes. Red elm bark can be used for acute problems such as diarrhea and is considered to slow down the passage of the intestinal tract, but can also be used continuously for long-term problems. Red elm bark has a high nutritional content, it is rich in vitamins and minerals.
If you are on medication, ideally wait at least one hour between taking red elm bark and taking medication, as the mucus formed by red elm bark can affect the absorption of the medication.
Medicinal sage is traditionally used for coughs, and irritation of mucous membranes, skin eczema, dermatitis. It is thought to help with dry mouth.
