Coconut oil is used for many things – cooking and frying, smoothies, skincare.
Coconut oil is great to heat up and is good as a frying fat and cooking oil in your cooking and baking. It contains no trans fats.
It is incredibly useful! You can also use it as a hair wrap, on your skin, make your own skin care products with the oil as a base, use it for shaving, as an ‘after sun’, lubricate leather, furniture and iron frying pans. It can even be used to lubricate locks and hinges. It’s also great for ‘oil pulling’, i.e. rinsing the mouth with in case of gingivitis (read more about it online). Coconut oil is antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.
How to make coconut oil? Take a ripe, organically grown coconut from a coconut palm. Squeeze the white flesh in a large press. Out comes organic coconut oil. The oil melts at 25 degrees Celsius. So if it’s warm outside, the oil is transparent and liquid. If it is room temperature or cooler, it is whitish and more solid.
There are different ways to get the oil from the pulp. Pureness oil is cold pressed, which means that no heat has been used. Only pressure, completely mechanical. Such coconut oil is called “virgin oil” or virgin olive oil. There is also hot-pressed and refined oil, but we do not sell that at Aroniabutiken. Like all our products – tested and approved by us.
Among other things, coconut’s saturated fats are considered exceptionally good for their Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) content. MCTs provide quick energy without being stored as fat. It is particularly popular in LCHF and has long been used by bodybuilders.
MCT is also considered to be particularly beneficial for the brain and has been used with good results in the natural treatment of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Because it is virgin oil, a mild coconut flavor remains.
Very durable and stored at room temperature.
